Joseph F. DeLucia, 93, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 at his home with his family by his side.  He was the beloved husband of 72 years to Elvira Vellaccio DeLucia.  Joseph was born in New Haven on June 15, 1927 and was the son of the late Joseph F. and Susan Aiello DeLucia.  He served his country faithfully in the US Navy during WW II on the USS Chelsea.  Joseph had worked for the New Haven Board of Education for many years until his retirement.  He enjoyed fishing and gardening.  Father of Diane Forlano (Albert), Josephine Bicknell (Robert), Joseph M. DeLucia (Sandra) and Charlene Dahlstrom (Jack).  Grandfather of Jennifer Cooper (Russell), Justin Forlano, Carisa Bicknell, Renee Bicknell, David Bicknell, Cherie Bicknell (Billy), Joseph M. DeLucia, Jr., Ashley Rosa DeLucia, Daniel Dahlstrom and Jonathan Dahlstrom (Karolyn).  Brother of Grace Argento, Rose Fuchs, Dolly Palmieri and the late Michael DeLucia, George DeLucia, Gloria Scafarello and Louise Esposito.  Also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by his daughter-in-law Theresa DeLucia.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Avenue, North Haven on Friday afternoon at 12:00 to attend a graveside service with full military honors.  There will be no visiting hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929
