My condolences to the entire family during this dificult time . May your fond memories keep you smiling as you think back and reflect on a wonderful individual and a life well lived .
I’m not sure if this man was the same Joe LaCroix that I knew over 50 years ago. We were in the 729 th railway transportation battalion together from 1968 to 1974. We did our basic trading at Ft Bragg and our AIT in Ft Eustis. I was a locomotive engineer and Joe was my conductor. He was a big man about 6’ 1” or so and moved at a very slow pace. It looked like the scenery was moving behind him as he walked. We enjoyed years of laughing and joking around. Unfortunately after the army we went our separate ways raising our families and working our jobs. If your Joe was my friend Joe, I offer my sincerest condolences to the entire LaCroix and if not, I offer my sentiments to this man. A remarkable resemblance in the picture though. Please e-mail me to verify that this was my army buddy that passed. If so, I will not be able to attend any services as I vacation in Florida every year until about May. May you rest in peace my friend. Bill “the Greek”
