Josephine Romanowski Dziamalek, 98, of Madison formerly of Gulf Brook Drive, Northford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Madison House.  She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Dziamalek.  Josephine was born in New Haven on March 17, 1920 and was the daughter of the late Konstaty and Pauline Bulkowska Romanowski.  She had worked at the former A.C. Gilberts and later as an Assistant Buyer for the former Edward Malley Department Store of New Haven.  Josephine was formerly very active with St. Brendan’s Church, New Haven and was very instrumental with its school fund raising. Mother of Judith A. (Edward) Smith and Richard M. (Margaret) Dziamalek.  Grandmother of Heather (Todd) Mansfield, Jessica Smith and Jonathan (Jodie) Smith.  Great grandmother of Christopher A. Disotell, Jr. and Ian Mansfield.  Sister of Theresa Mucha, Eugene Romanowski and the late Jennie Romanowski, Frances Bozenkta, Catherine Romanofsky and John Romanowski. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  The family would like to extend a “Special Thank You” to Patty Hale of the Madison House for all the loving comfort and care she provided to our mother and family.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue on Monday morning at 10:30.  Family and friends may call from 9:00 to 10:30.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Monica Church at 11:00.  Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.  Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Center, P.O.
