Judith A. Gargano Purcell, 75, of East Haven passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 18th, 2022.  She was the beloved wife of the late Alan T. Purcell.  Judy was born in New Haven on February 5, 1947 and was the daughter of the late Edward and Eleanor Turchetta Gargano. Loving mother of two daughters, Lisa (Eric) Trumpold of Wallingford and Tracy Pfannenbecker of East Haven.  Adored and cherished grandmother of Eric II (Sarah), Andrew, Brandon, Nathaniel Trumpold, Lindsey Purcell, Lauren and William Pfannenbecker.  Caring great grandmother of Sophia, Owen, Raelynn Judith Trumpold and Nicholas Huertes; along with many nieces and nephews.  Sister to Edward (Rosemary) Gargano of Nokomis, Florida and Gary (Anna) Gargano of Hamden; along with Terry Messina of Branford who was like a sister to her.Prior to her retirement Judy worked for CVS Pharmacy in East Haven where she was the face of the store for approximately 30 years.  She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends; hosting many events throughout the years. She loved music and a good home cooked meal; many of which she provided for the people she loved.  She had the most beautiful soul and touched the lives of so many.  She was a shining light that was always bright for those in need.

The visiting hours will be Friday morning, April 22nd from 8:30 to 10:30 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Padre Pio of Pietralcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, East Haven at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
