Karen Lynn Burch, 69, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2022 with loving family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Rosalie Peckingham Patchell and Kenneth M. Patchell. Karen was born in Hamden, CT on May 09, 1952. She graduated from Hamden High School in 1970. Karen was a medical professional who dedicated her life to serving others. She began her nursing career as a CNA and then later received her LPN. The lives of so many people were positively impacted by her skills and her compassion. For all her professional success, however, her most fulfilling accomplishment was being a mother, sister, cousin and proud “Meme” to her four grandkids. For her, family was everything. She leaves to treasure her memory her children, Jessica Vitale and husband Burt of Wallingford, Jason Burch and his fiance Rachael Tremblay of Meriden, Melissa Burch of Wallingford and former daughter-in-law Victoria Burch, also of Wallingford. She is the cherished grandmother of Nicholas and Ryan Vitale and Madilyn and Jason Burch. She also leaves her brothers Kenneth Patchell and his wife Sharen of Kempner, TX and Kevin Patchell of Wallingford, her best friend of 58 years, Kathy Byrum of Lyons, CO as well as many nieces , nephews, cousins and extended family. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Myrtle and William Knie of Hamden, her paternal grandparents, Ruth and Harry Patchell of West Haven, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Karen will be greatly missed by all.
Family and friends may call on Friday evening, February 4th from 5:00 to 7:00 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home. A eulogy will be presented by her daughter Jessica Vitale at 6:30 PM. .
Karen was a wonderful friend to me. Her sweetness and warm heart will be greatly missed. May she Rest In Peace.
