In the wee hours of October 25th after having entered her 90th year on this planet this past September, Kathleen Margaret Nicholls loving wife, mother and grandmother left this earth to join her sons Michael and Lawrence and her loving and devoted husband Chris. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving sons and daughters Stephen, Martin, Phillip (Guo Hong), Diane Fritzel and Paula Prue (Darryl) and her grandchildren Christopher (Oana), Kristen and Katrina Fritzel, Nathan and Joshua Bryant, Victoria and Angelina Nicholls. Kathleen and her husband Chris immigrated to the United States in July of 1965 with 5 young children and $70 in their pocket. The following year, they welcomed their 2nd daughter (their little Yankee) and bought the home that Kathleen still resided in until her passing and over the next 50+ years they built a life in their new homeland. After her youngest child started school, Kathleen entered the workforce.  She was extremely proud of the diverse jobs she had over the years including chambermaid, assembler and retired 25 years ago from Bob’s clothing stores. In retirement Kathleen and Chris were able to fulfill their dream of traveling this country and Europe and returning often to England to visit with all the family members there. One of their favorite memories was a 30+ day cross country bus tour to visit all the major US landmarks. Kathleen and Chris loved country music (but only the REAL country music they would say) and spent many Saturday nights in years past at the PNA park in Wallingford for country music night. Kathleen also enjoyed Sunday dinners and holidays when all her children and grandchildren would gather at the family homestead, trips to the casino, various summer outdoor concerts in CT and Maine, and trips to her summer home in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. In addition to her sons and husband, Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, sisters Norma and Maureen, Nephew Kevin and her beloved and devoted canine companion, Jax. She leaves to cherish her memory, many nieces and nephews in the UK. Our goal was to keep her out of a nursing home and over the last 2 years to keep her safe from covid. We are proud to say that we accomplished both.

Private funeral services have been entrusted to The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.
