Laura Carlotti Ferri, 84, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2018 with her family by her side. She was the wife of Carlo A. Ferri. Laura was born in Buti, Prov. of Pisa Tuscany, Italy on December 14, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dina Livia Ciardi Carlotti. She is survived by a son, Marco (Gretchen) Ferri and daughter Carla (Joseph) Meucci. She also leaves behind her five loving grandchildren Monica and Christopher Meucci, Mark Farat, Lia and Sonia Ferri. Laura came to the United States in 1949. She graduated from Albertus Magnus College with a BA in Italian and French, as well as a master’s in Education from SCSU. Laura taught Italian in the Hamden School system for 32 years until her retirement. Upon her retirement she continued teaching Italian at Quinnipiac University.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to the office at St. Lawrence Cemetery 280 Derby Avenue, West Haven on Thursday morning February 22, 2018 at 11:00 for a committal service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. The North Haven Funeral Home 36 Washington Avenue, have been entrusted with the arrangements
