Lawrence “Larry” M. Mohr, 72, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at MidState Medical Center, Meriden with his family by his side.  He was the beloved husband of Joan Isaac-Mohr.  Larry was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 24, 1945 and was the son of the late Frank and Marion Lewerenz Mohr.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Concordia College and his Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Seminary.  Larry was an ordained Lutheran Minister and served his faith and congregations in New York and North Carolina for ten years, then changed careers to focus on education, writing for the National Association of College Admission Counselors, Baruch College, Quinnipiac University and then free-lanced until retirement. A lover of music in general, Larry had a lifelong interest and passion for jazz music, played the saxophone and was a member of a jazz quartet with three other seminarians.  Father of Arwen (Nate) Mulder and the late Lauren A. Mohr.  Grandfather of Cole (7) and Eowyn (4) Mulder.  Also survived by Amber Isaac who was like another daughter to him.

Family and friends may call at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Thursday March 1 starting at 4:00, and a brief service, officiated by Pastor Gregory Wismar, will begin at 7:00.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lauren A. Mohr Scholarship Fund c/o Quinnipiac University, Office of Development, 275 Mt. Carmel Avenue, Hamden, CT  06518
