Linda Lawlor Crouch, 71 of Sunset Beach, N.C., formerly of Wallingford, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, February 19, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald E. Crouch, Sr. Born on May 1, 1949, Linda was the daughter of the late George F. and Harriet Cook Lawlor. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in New Haven in 1967. She then graduated from Stone College. Linda worked for the Olin Corporation as a patent secretary before raising a family and working in the hospitality industry after moving to North Carolina. She is survived by her two sons, Donald E. Crouch, Jr. (Simone) of Wallingford, and Matthew R. Crouch (Amanda) of Carolina Shores, N.C.; sister, Carolyn (Keith) Wright, of North Haven; brother-in -law, Ralph Crouch, of North Haven; sister- in-law, Margaret(Frederick) Gunn of Sturbridge, M.A., and sister-in-law, Shirley Crouch, of Irasburg, V.T.; her four grandchildren, Dylan Waite, Derek Waite, Sophia Diaz, Aubrey Crouch; and her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Maureen Crouch, brother-in-law, Robert Crouch, Sr. and brother-in-law, Allan Crouch, Jr. Linda had a strong Catholic faith. Before moving South, she was an active member of the Church of the Resurrection in Wallingford, where she taught catechism and was a Eucharist Minister. She was a parishioner of Saint Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church in Shallotte, N.C. Linda enjoyed going on cruises, camping at the Lake, walking on the beach, music, connecting with family and friends on Facebook, her Bunco group, and attending Guthrie Family reunion. Linda had many friends including many lifelong relationships. She cherished those relationships.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford on Saturday, July 17th at 12:00 PM to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in Montowese Cemetery. I have many happy memories with Linda. We attended St. Mary’s and Stone’s Business College together. Spent a lot of time together back in those days. We stayed in touch maybe not as often as I should have, but miss our updates. I know how family oriented she was and how much she loved her boys and their family’s. You are all in my prayers
May you know we are praying for you all. We know how hard this time can be but take comfort in knowing your Mom was loved and treasured by so many. We will always cherish our friendship we had with her. Rest In Peace my dear friend Linda, you will forever be in our hearts and never forgotten.
Happy to have known her. She gave good advice, ( even though I didn’t always follow it ). Now, I’m happy just to look up, and talk to her…Heaven is awesome.
