Loretta Rose Petrucci of Hamden, beloved wife of the late Louis Petrucci for 68 years, passed away on April 8th in her home. She was born in New Haven on July 17, 1924 to Rose and Angelo Colatosti. Loretta was a wonderful wife, mother and friend to all. After raising her three daughters, she went to work for the Hamden Board of Education until her retirement in 1996. She loved to bake and prided herself in the beautiful Easter pies she would make every year. She is survived by her brother, Albert Alexander and 3 daughters, Joanne (Don) Rundstrom, Susan Petrucci (Paul Prusinski) and Loretta (Fred) Schuler. She had 7 grandchildren (Jason, Chris, Cara, Kim, Jess, Michael and Rachel) and 13 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brothers, Peter Colatosti and Robert Colatosti. Loretta’s daughters cannot thank Tamara Dolunts enough for the wonderful care and love she gave to their mother over the past 5 years.
The visiting hours will be on Tuesday morning, April 12th from 10:00 to 11:30 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A parlor service will be conducted at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Ste. 4B, Southington, CT 06489 or Connecticut Hospice, Branford, CT 06405.
