Lorraine Fiametta Stomboli Cavallaro, 55, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Smilow Cancer Hospital/Yale-New Haven after a courageous five-year battle with cancer.  She was cared for and loved deeply by her family and friends.  Lorraine was born in New Haven on October 17, 1963.  She was the daughter of Barbara (Squires) Stomboli and the late Frank Stomboli.  Lorraine graduated from Branford High School in 1981 where she excelled at field hockey and softball.  She held jobs at Branford Savings Bank, Union Trust, and later at Arden House in Hamden. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years Paul G. Cavallaro Sr; son, Paul G. Cavallaro Jr. (Julia); daughter, Nicole A. Cavallaro; mother-in-law, Nancy (Cambino) Cavallaro; sister, Dawn (Stomboli) Kapinos (Christopher), grandson, Paul G. Cavallaro III, nephew, Steven Kapinos and niece, Victoria Kapinos.  Lorraine was a great cook, an award-winning athlete and the most caring person around.  Her compassion and generosity towards other were unmatched.  She touched the lives of all that knew her.  Her fight for life will never be forgotten.  She faced every difficulty with courage and determination and her strength was admired by everyone.  Lorraine will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.  Lorraine’s family would also like to thank her caregivers at Smilow Cancer Hospital for their compassion in caring for her.

Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue on Wednesday morning at 11:00 with the Rev. Timothy Meehan officiating.  Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.  The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm.
