Louis E. Gerbi, 98, of the Atria at Larson Place, Hamden, formerly of Sara Circle, North Haven, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 11, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Ann M. Guandalini Gerbi.  Louis was born in Littleton, Massachusetts on May 22, 1919 and was the son of the late Harry and Anna Marletta Gerbi.  He served his country faithfully in the US Marine Corp during WW II in the Pacific Theatre in Saipan, Guam and Guadalcanal.  Louis had worked for Pratt & Whitney for 30 years retiring as a machinist and later for the Town of North Haven Park & Recreation Department for 10 years.  He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus/Father Donaher Council and a member of the American Legion Murray/Reynolds Post # 76 both of North Haven.  Louis was an avid Boston Red Sox and UConn Girls’ basketball fan.  Father of Rosalie Lamontagne, Marilyn Verna, L. Dennis Gerbi and Julius Gerbi.  Also survived by five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.  Predeceased by his brother Raymond Peter Gerbi.

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Wednesday morning at 11:00.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 11:30 am. Interment with full military honors will follow in the North Haven Center Cemetery.
