Louis Mauriello, Jr., 75, of Cheshire, formerly of Magnolia Avenue, West Haven for 45 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 21st, 2023 at Elim Park with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 45 years to the late Carol Frisa Mauriello. Louis was born in New Haven on March 6, 1948, son of the late Louis Mauriello, Sr. and Eva Gentilesco Mauriello. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Quinnipiac College where he also played Varsity baseball. Louis was a professional in the trucking industry for many years, having worked for Carrano Trucking, Regional Express, Plymouth Rock, Conn Warehouse and Logistics, and Multi-Mode Logistics LLC until his retirement. A sports enthusiast, Lou was an avid New York Yankees, New York Giants and UCONN Basketball fan. Most of all, Lou enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren who he loved unconditionally. Father of Landa Mauriello-Vernon and Carra Conlan. Father-in-law of Brent Vernon and Billy Conlan. Grandfather of Alea, Andrew and Adam Vernon, Evan and Brianna Conlan. Brother of Barbara Angelo and Richard Mauriello. Brother-in-law of Patricia Frisa-Miller. Uncle of Justin (Patricia) Angelo, Lara (Chris) Battema, Gina Gentilesco, and Nicolette (John) Lane. Godfather to Allegra Angelo and Benjamin (Nina) Ruben. Also survived by cousins Frank and Gail Gentilesco and Laureen and Marc Ruben, along with many beloved cousins. Predeceased by his brother-in-law Charles Angelo. Lou cherished his many friendships, including Pat and Kathy Moran, Harry and Carol Bruneau, and Paul and Kathy Oberempt.
The visiting hours will be Tuesday, Dec. 26th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Bernadette’s Church, New Haven on Wednesday morning, Dec. 27th at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elim Park Resident Benevolent Fund, 140 Cook Hill Road, Cheshire, CT 06410.
