Louis “Rub” Ciampini, 79, of Madison passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a long illness. Louis was born in New Haven on September 10th, 1944, and graduated from Wilbur Cross High School where he was a star football player and made many of his life-long friends. Louis worked as an Operating Engineer and spent many years as a Sales Manager in the auto industry around the greater New Haven area. Upon retirement, he became a member of the St. Andrew’s Apostles society where he spent much of his free time. Besides his wife Linda, he is survived by his two sons; Damon and Derek (Amanda) Ciampini, both of Madison, his brother Chet Ciampini from North Haven, and his sister Maryjane Suchecki from Northford. Lou’s grandchildren; Hannah (20), Matthew (18) and Bianca (9) were the light of his life and he cherished spending time with them and attending their many sporting and other extracurricular activities. He was predeceased by his parents, Frances (Curcio) and Chester Ciampini and two brothers; Joseph and John. Lou will be remembered as a doting grandfather, good father, and all-around great guy by his family and many friends.
The visiting hours will be Monday, Jan. 29th from 4:00 -7:00 PM in The Havens Family North Haven Funeral home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven, Tuesday, Jan. 30TH , at 12 noon. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Should friends desire memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75216 in his memory.
