Louise Carmel Fezza lived a full and vibrant life.  Louise passed away on January 16th, 2022 at the age of 95, surrounded by the love of family and friends who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Louise was born to Anthony R. Aceto and Carmel DeMichael Aceto in New Haven, CT on November 23rd, 1926, the oldest of four children.  She was a devoted sibling to her brothers Anthony (Tony), Vincent (Buddy) and Richard (Dicky), all predeceased.

Louise met her husband Alphonse Dominic Fezza, the “love of her life”, and together they had two children, Susan and Andrew.  Louise and Alphonse cherished every moment of their 65 years together and treasured the time that they spent with the Aceto and Fezza extended families.  They had a rich social life with valued friendships that spanned decades.

Elegant and refined, Louise loved people and enjoyed life.  She was interested in current events and pop culture equally.  She never missed the news or an episode of Jeopardy.  She was adept at navigating social media and enjoyed her Alexa.  She often said that while she chose to live alone she was never lonely.  With frequent visits from her grandkids, and nieces and nephews, and cherished daily phone calls from her dearest lifetime friend Mimi, she had constant company.

Louise never missed an opportunity to be with her family and friends.  She was always ready to go out to lunch, dinner, or Dairy Queen.  She loved meeting her “lady” friends at the local diner, her afternoons playing bridge at the senior center and her time spent with her caregiver and friend, Anna.

Louise’s greatest accomplishment was her family.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother “Grammy”, and great grandmother to her “little sweetheart, Penelope”.  Family was her life.

Louise is predeceased by her husband Alphonse Dominic Fezza.  She is survived by her daughter Susan Fezza and her husband Eric Johnson, her granddaughters, Lauren Fennelly and husband Tom Wiklund and Faith Fennelly.  She is also survived by her son Andrew Fezza and his wife Marilyn Fezza, her grandchildren, Margo Fezza, Marisa Fezza (and fiancé Colby Howard), Christopher Fezza and his wife Kathryn Fezza and her great granddaughter, Penelope Louise Fezza.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law Lillian Aceto, her brother-in-law Andrew J. Fezza, and countless cousins, nieces and nephews that she cared for beyond measure.

We take comfort in knowing that Louise and Alphonse Fezza are now together at peace and surrounded by light and love.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring in Louise’s memory.
