Louise Valente Ramadei, 92, of Hamden passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Benchmark Senior Assisted Living, Hamden with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Ottavio “Art” Ramadei, Jr. for 68 years. Louise was born in New Haven on April 4, 1924; daughter of the late Ettore and Grace Pizza Valente; was a parishioner of St. Barnabas Church and member of St. Barnabas Women’s book club, and past President of Amvets Post # 9 Women’s Auxiliary. Mother of Catherine Ramadei, John (Dianna)Ramadei, Thomas Ramadei and Maria(Thomas) Yankura. Grandmother of Stephanie, David, Matthew, Reina and Jennifer. Sister of Ettore (Josephine) Valente and sister-in-law of Isabel Valente, Rose Ramadei, Alex (Rosalie) Ramadei and Ann Ramadei. Predeceased by her siblings, Maria, Anna, Frank, Michael, Armando “Al”, Salvatore and Rev. Romeo Valente, Theresa Manzi and Consiglia Rubino.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Saturday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 pm.
