Luigi Fiore, 77, of New Haven passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 51 years to Rosa Imbriani Fiore. Luigi was born in Conza della Campania, province of Avellino, Italy on August 19, 1939; son of the late Felice Gerado Fiore and Maria Nicola Melillo Fiore and had worked as a contractor for companies in the area for many years. Luigi was uniquely talented.  He was an expert in multiple trades, occupations and across many fields of study.  Luigi was constantly sought out for his counsel, expertise and mechanical ability.  He was the rarest of men-a true intellectual, a master craftsmen and someone who also got his hands dirty.  Luigi attracted the most valuable, capable, and faithful people into his life.  He was a trusted friend and confidante who was a teacher to us all.  An irreplaceable “bon homme” Luigi Fiore will be immensely missed. Father of Maria Rivnak. Grandfather of Michael and Matthew Rivnak who were the lights of his life and whom he loved unconditionally. Brother of Nicola (Angelina) Fiore and the late Angelo and Giuseppe Fiore.  

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Tuesday morning at 9:15. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church at 10:00. Entombment will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum. The visiting hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 pm.
