Margaret E. King DeMarco, 98, formerly of Rose Lane, North Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28th, 2024, at the Connecticut Baptist Home, Meriden with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank DeMarco. Margaret was born in Brookline, Massachusetts on August 20th, 1925, and was the daughter of the late Peter W. and Mary Butterfield King. She worked for the former New Haven Savings Bank, the SNET Company and later for the former Caldor’s Department Stores. Margaret enjoyed her frequent trips to the casino, was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, but most of all she enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren who she loved unconditionally. Mother of Edward DeMarco (Eileen), John DeMarco (Carol) and Rose Chialastri (Anthony). Sister of Donald King (Livia), Robert King (Maryann) and the late Peter King, Edward Meagher, George King, Harriet Sandillo and Dorothy Burns. Grandmother of Joel, Michael, Frank and David Chialastri, Leah Saunders, Jason DeMarco, Joseph Cocheran, Kelly Bafumi, Edward & Sherri DeMarco and the late Anthony Chialastri. Also survived by great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, niece and nephews. Predeceased by her 2nd husband Mario Giamo.
The visiting hours will be Friday, May 3rd from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Catholic parlor service will be conducted in the funeral home at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box, 1640 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
