Marie A. Buonocore, longtime resident of North Haven, entered into eternal rest Sunday February 28, 2021 after a long illness. Marie was predeceased by her husband of 69 years Christopher Buonocore, their sons Vincent and Christopher, and her sister Virginia DeCerbo. Marie is survived by her sister and closest confidant Lillian (Anthony, deceased) Aceto and her beloved daughters Carlotta (William) Cullinane, Regina (John) Apuzzo, and daughter-in-law Pamela Buonocore. Marie is also survived by her six treasured grandchildren Jennifer (Carl) Decarvalho, Amanda Buonocore, Jordan (Mahsau) Cullinane, John (Abigail) Apuzzo, Danielle (Scott) Salway, and Christopher Apuzzo. Marie leaves behind six beautiful great grandchildren who loved their Grammy immensely, and her lifelong best friend Terese Gabuccci. Marie was born in New Haven November 24, 1926 to the late Marco and Fannie DeCerbo. She was a graduate of Hillhouse High School and Larson College. Marie was employed for many years by the Hospital of Saint Raphael in the medical records division. A lover of late night phone calls, sweets and shopping trips of any kind, Marie was a friend to many with a holiday card mailing list of over 200. Marie was devout in her Catholic faith and was a member of St Elizabeth of the Trinity (St Barnabas) parish. Marie took great pride in her Italian American heritage and was active in many clubs and committees including the Sons and Daughters of Italy, National Italian American Foundation, American Committee on Italian Migration, Italian Historical Society of Connecticut, and the New Haven Columbus Day parade committee.

Private funeral services have been entrusted to The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.
