Just shy of her 100th birthday, Marie (Vece) Laccone of Waterford passed away peacefully after a short illness on October 12, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Albina Vece. She was predeceased by her husband Michael Laccone and siblings Frank, Danny and Ceil Vece, Jean DeLuca and Annette Dickinson. Mother to Ceil Decker of Niantic and Michele Spellman of Rocky Hill. Loving Grandmother to Eric Decker, Charles (CJ) Spellman and Victoria Spellman and Great-Grandmother to Violet Decker. Marie was involved with the Waterford Senior Center for many years. She was an avid bowler all her life. She volunteered in the New London court system for over 20 years. She was last employed by CVS in Waterford better known as the “Card Lady”. Thank you to the Harbor Staff at Crescent Pont in Niantic and HHC Hospice for their wonderful care of her in her final days.
Graveside service will be held at All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Avenue, North Haven on Tuesday afternoon, October 17th at 12:00.
She was a wonderful Aunt that will be missed tremendously. I’ll treasure all the memories we’ve shared along the way . You maybe gone but will never be forgotten. I will hold you in my heart forever . On the 21st I will celebrate our birthday without you this year. But I know you’ll be with me .RIP until we meet again. And tell Mom and Dad I miss them lots when you see them ❤️💔😞
