Marilyn A. “Holly” Halloran Ricci, 79, of North Haven, passed away on Thursday May 18, 2017 at the St. Raphael Campus/ Yale New Haven with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 56 years to Carmine Ricci. Holly was born in New Haven on April 19, 1938; daughter of the late Martin F. and Mary Gallo Halloran, Sr.; graduate of St. Francis School in New Haven and East Haven High School class of 1955 and was a member of the Senior Center in North Haven. Mother of Natalie (Richard) Monroe, Stephen (Dana) Ricci, Gregory (Julie) Ricci, Keith (Lori) Ricci, Scott (Melanie Olmstead) Ricci and Todd (Trisha) Ricci. Sister of Martin F. Halloran, Jr. and Richard A. Halloran. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Wednesday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Mary & Joseph Place, 12 Village St. # 9, North Haven, CT 06473 .

Footprints in the Sand
One night I had a dream.
I dreamed I was walking along the beach
with the Lord..
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life..
For each scene, I noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand,
one belonging to me, and the other to the Lord..
When the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life
there was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life.
This really bothered me
and I questioned the Lord about it:
“Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you’d walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life
there is only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why
when I need you most you would leave me.”
The Lord replied:
“My precious child, I love you and would
never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints, it was then
that I carried you.”

Keith: I was so sorry to hear about your Mom, because believe me, I understand what you’re going through. By her picture I can see that she was full of personality and just an all-around wonderful human being; and, I know that to be true, because I can see those attributes in you; And, I always want you to remember, she will always be around in someway .. when you hear her favorite song; or, feel the warmth of her favorite day; or, when you hear the pots and pans in the kitchen especially on holidays once; or, when you feel like someone’s touching you like she use to. Oh yes, she’ll be around, and she will definitely let you know it. Lister, all I can say is that, the only consolation that helps me when I start to reminisce about my Mom, is that she is now an ANGEL in heaven, that truly represents honor, respect, and great pride to any family.
