Mary “Jean” Ruggiero Polletta, 90, of Myrtle Beach, SC formerly of West Haven for many years passed away peacefully on Thursday January 26, 2017 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford. She was the beloved wife of 69 years to Joseph Polletta. Jean was born in New Haven on January 9, 1927; daughter of the late John and Anna Manzo Ruggiero; had worked for the former Shartenberg Department Store, New Haven and later as a Secretary for St. Louis Church, West Haven for 35 years until her retirement; was a member and past President of the St. Louis Ladies Guild and a member of the New Haven Council of Catholic Women. Mother-in-law of Ann G. Polletta. Grandmother of Jennifer Menillo (Anthony) and Lauren Kowalewski (Robert). Great-Grandmother of Anthony, Connor, Briana and Aubrey. Sister of Vivian Masella and the late Jennie Soli. Predeceased by her son John Robert Polletta.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home 36, Washington Avenue, Monday at 10:15. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Paul Church, West Haven at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 pm.
