Mary K. Morris, 92, of North Branford entered peacefully into eternal rest on April 25, 2024 after a brief illness with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 67 years to the late Hugh R. Morris.  Mary was born in New Haven on May 31, 1931, and was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Cummings) Korn.  Mary was both a devout Catholic and an avid UCONN Huskies fan.  She and her late husband loved traveling, having traveled cross country and visiting many other places, including Germany, Hawaii, Ireland, Aruba, and St Thomas. She enjoyed watching the daily mass, saying her rosary, and doing word searches.

Mary was proud of her family and loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the lights of her life and she took immense joy in every moment spent with them.  Her face would light up with pride and love whenever she spoke of her family.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Paul (Jeanie) Morris of Boise, Idaho, Patricia (John) Ficocelli of North Haven and Thomas (Donna) Morris of Dixmont, Maine.

She was the beloved grandmother of Christopher (Tara) Ficocelli, Michael (Jordan) Ficocelli, Jennifer (Al) Mauro, Calyx (Ryan) Hemenway, and Drew Morris.   She also leaves her ten adored great grandchildren, Avery, Declan, Emersyn, Camden, Carson, Carter, Tanner, Landon, Sienna and Holden.  She is survived by her brother, John T. (Barbara) Korn of Northford and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother Charles F. Korn.  A heartfelt thank you is extended to her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends for the loyalty and compassion they shared over the years.

Visitation will be Friday, May 3rd from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Church 30 Caputo Road, North Branford at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
