Mary “Lorraine” Durkin Savino, 89, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was born in New York City on February 1, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Edward and Catherine Bates Durkin. Lorraine loved to read, exercise, watching Mother Angelica on TV and was a devoted parishioner of St. Barnabas Church. A real people person, Lorraine always enjoyed a good conversation, making people laugh or laughing along with others. Mother of Deborah Savino, Kathleen Mitchell (Frank), Edward Savino (Marcella), Lisa McCarthy (Will) and Susan Savino. Grandmother of Gil Hodges (Jennifer), Kelly Hodges (Liz Cronin), Brian Mitchell, Erin Savino, Emma Savino, Katherine Bibby (Mitchell) and Briana Savino. Great-Grandmother of Carter Savino. Sister of Edward Durkin (Barbara) and the late Catherine Ryan, and Patrick Durkin.
Private services have been entrusted to The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eternal Word Television Network/EWTN, 5817 Old Leeds Road, Irondale, AL 35210-9768.
We are so very sorry for your loss. Lorraine was one great, funny and fun-filled classy lady! We will certainly miss her for Thanksgiving, Easter and other happy time together. We love you all. You are in our prayers. The Camner Family
