Mary Lou Denison Martino, 88, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of almost 70 years to Kenneth A. Martino, Sr. Mary Lou was born in Hamden on June 23, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Liston Denison. She worked in the office of Blue Cross. Mother of Toni-Marie Spencer and her husband Gwynne and the late Kenneth A. Martino, Jr. Mother-in-law of Sheila Martino. Grandmother of Gwynne D. Spencer, Audrey Pearl Spencer, and the late Kenneth A. Martino III. Great-Grandmother of Isabella, Annalisa, and Kenneth IV. Sister of Bernice DePoto and the late Grace Zahornacky, Elizabeth Nuzzo and Joan Jamilkowski. Also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Predeceased by her granddaughter-in-law of Teresa Martino.
The visiting hours will be Friday, April 5th from 4 to 7 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven on Saturday morning, April 6th at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in All Saints Cemetery.
Sad news today. It is hard to think about my earliest days without seeing my cousin Mary Lou running around my house or her house. Removed by distance from the larger family as a kid, the family and particularly Mary Lou was always in my thoughts.
My thoughts and prayers today for Kenny and Toni and all the family. I know my cousin is in a better place.
