Mary T. Cavallaro Giannotti, 91, of East Haven passed away peacefully on Monday, April 4th, 2022 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Born in New Haven on July 10, 1930, daughter of the late Salvatore and Veneranda DeRisi Cavallaro. A graduate of the former St. Mary’s High School, New Haven, Mary had worked for Yale-New Hospital for many years until her retirement. Very proud of her Italian heritage, she enjoyed listening to Italian music especially Luciano Pavarotti. Mary was a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church, New Haven. Loving mother of Jo-Ann M. Giannotti (fiance’ Keith Funteral) and the late Mary G. Fournier. Beloved aunt of Frank Weir. Predeceased by her sisters, Jennie Weir, Antoinette Cavallaro and brothers Frank and Aniello “Neil” Cavallaro.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Anthony’s Church, Washington Avenue, New Haven on Tuesday morning, April 12th at 10:00. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
