Matheos Papadopoulos, 65, of West Haven passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 in Greece. He was the beloved husband of 42 years to Kyriaki Koukouleta Papadopoulos. Matheos was born in Agios Loukas, Greece on June 5, 1951; son of the late Konstantinos and Maria Seferidis Papadopoulos; had served in the Greek military; was the owner and operator of the former Family Pizza in New Haven for 20 years and later had worked as a cook in the kitchen of the cafeteria at the St. Raphael’s campus/Yale-New Haven for nine years until his retirement. Matheos enjoyed playing cards at the Greek social clubs and taking frequent trips to the casino. Loving father of Maria (John) Desrosiers, Stiliani and Konstantinos Papadopoulos. Brother of Anastasia (Demetrios) Hrisafis and Anna (Sava) Toromanides.
Funeral services will be conducted in St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road, Orange on Tuesday morning at 9:00. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Haven. The visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 9 pm at the church. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue has been entrusted with the arrangements.
