Maurice Sapiro

Maurice Sapiro, 91, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23^rd, 2024, at the Regency House, Wallingford.  He was the beloved husband of the late Sarah Elizabeth Esposito Sapiro. Maurice was born in New Brunswick, NJ on July 10^th, 1932, and was the son of the late Jacob and Sadie Kalfen Sapiro. He served his country faithfully in the US Army, 279th Army Band in France.  He was an internationally celebrated artist, was an acclaimed American Oil Painter, a Tonalist who worked in all artistic mediums and was internationally renowned. He was also the author of two widely respected educational texts in ceramics. He was a beloved music educator with degrees from the Eastman School of Music who touched the lives of all of his students. He was Father of John Sapiro and the late Sarah Sapiro.  He was predeceased by his brother Erwin Sapiro.
