Michael Esposito, Jr., 89, of East Haven, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 21st, 2021 at his home with his family by his side.  He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Gabriella Casalinuovo Esposito.  Michael was born in New Haven on August 14th, 1931 and was the son of the late Michael Esposito, Sr., and Adriana DePino Esposito.  Starting out his working career shining shoes as a young man, Michael later became a Tractor Trailer Mechanic having worked for the former Adley’s Express, FlexiVan, Hertz Penske, Truck Lease and later for Stop & Shop until his retirement in 1994. Michael was a member of the Teamsters Local #443 and a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii Church where he served as an usher.  He enjoyed playing bocce, cards and was an excellent pool player where he mentored many. Above all, Michael loved being with his family. Michael was the loving father of Lia Sabin (Kevin) and Adrienne Strickland (Steve), grandfather of Juliana and Thomas Sabin.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Michael is predeceased by his sisters Mary Paolillo, Fanny Marottoli, Marion Ambrosini, and brothers Frank, Andrew, Alphonse, Nicholas, and Dominic Esposito.

Visiting hours will be Monday, May 24th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, East Haven on Tuesday morning, May 25th at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
