Michael F. Vorio, 91, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Friday May 12, 2017 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 67 years to Helen DellaRocco Vorio. Michael was born in New Haven on October 1, 1925; son of the late Pelligrino and Elvira Vellaccio Vorio; served his country faithfully in the US Navy during WW II; a plumber all his life having worked for Pat Inzero Plumbing, F&F Mechanical and Donwal Plumbing until his retirement; was a member of the Knights of Columbus but most of all enjoyed gardening and his family whom he loved unconditionally. Father of Ronald M. Vorio (Stephanie), Michael F. Vorio, Jr. (Patricia) and Mark T. Vorio(Anne). Grandfather of Eric Vorio (Natalie), Garrett Vorio (Brandi), Brendon Vorio (Ashley), Daniel, Lauren, Anthony and Nicholas Vorio. Great Grandfather of Tyler Vorio. Brother of Catherine Vorio, Rose Kozolis, and the late Peter, Dominic and Frank Vorio. Also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Monday morning at 10:30. Family and friends may call from 8:00 to 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 11:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery
