Michael Kenneth Ney, 33, of Hamden formerly of Northford passed away on Thursday January 26, 2017 at his home. Michael was born in New Haven on November 23, 1983; son of Phillip P. Ney, Jr. and Marcia Manco; he was active in football for many years having played on the North Branford Youth and High School Football Teams, and later enjoyed watching North Branford Football games especially when his nephew played. Michael had worked along with his father at the Empire Restoration Company and was a Scrub Tech. at Yale New Haven Hospital; he was a member of Golds Gym; avid San Francisco 49ers fan and loved his dog Mama and his cat Murray. Brother of Lisa Izzo (Gino), Adrienne Burgh (Donald), Shanon Coppola (Bruce) and Phillip P. Ney III (Rita). Also survived by many nieces, nephews and a great niece. Predeceased by his grandparents, Gloria & Phillip Ney, Sr., Anna & Norman Manco.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Tuesday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Monica Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 pm. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, 749 E. Main St. Branford, CT 06405 or to the North Branford High School Football Team, 49 Caputo Rd., North Branford, CT 06471.
