Michael N. DeLucia, 92, of North Haven, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 11th, 2022. He was the loving husband of the late Elizabeth Marsico DeLucia for 68 years. He was born in North Haven on September 10, 1929 and was the son of the late James and Mary Papa DeLucia. Michael was the loving father and father-in-law of James (Nancy) DeLucia, Salvatore (Toni) DeLucia, Mary Ann (Mark) Apuzzo and Rose (Carl) Slusarczyk. Michael, known to his family as Poppy, was the loving grandfather of Michael (Heather) DeLucia, James DeLucia, Jr., Chrissy, Jennifer and Nicole DeLucia, Robert and Alyssa (Gerald Villecco Jr.) Apuzzo, Emily and Michael Slusarczyk. He was the great grandfather of Alice and William DeLucia and seven other great grandchildren. Brother of Salvatore (Evelyn) DeLucia and the late Nicholas, James and Joseph DeLucia. Also survived by his sisters-in-law Rose (Ruggero) DeLucia, Teresa (Papa)Marsico, Ann (Marsico) DeLucia, and RoseMarie (Marsico) Esposito. Michael impressed all who knew him with his strength and work ethic. He was a heavy machine operator with the Operating Engineers Local #478 and had worked for C.W. Blakeslee, L.G. DeFelice, Laydon Construction, John’s Refuse, and later was a master mechanic on the Conrail track gangs. Michael enjoyed gardening, both outdoors and in his greenhouse, playing cards with his family (especially 500 rummy) and doing various mechanical work. His family would like to thank all the home aides, nurses, and physical therapists for the compassionate care they provided to Michael over the years.
The visiting hours will be Friday morning, Feb. 18th from 9:30 to 11:30 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven at 12 noon. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489

Jim, Nancy and family, my condolences on the loss of your dad. We go back a long time; your dad was a hard worker and led a great life.
