Michael Niro, 91, of Boca Raton, FL, formerly of Hamden, CT, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at The Encore Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Boca Raton, FL. He was the beloved husband of the late Annette DeCaprio Niro. Mike was born in Baranello, Province of Molise, Italy on October 15, 1930 and was the son of the late Giuseppe and Anna Colagiovanni Niro. He immigrated to the United States in 1951 and settled with his family in West Haven, CT. Mike was the Sole Proprietor and President of Niro Construction Company for 33 years until his retirement. Loving father of Dr. Joseph Michael Niro and his wife Susan. Grandfather of Dr. Kathryn Niro and her husband Greg Bloom, great-grandfather of their two children, Luke and Emma. Also, grandfather of Anna, John and Michael Niro. Brother of the late Frank, Nicholas, Phyllis Farace and Carl Niro. Brother-in-law to Marie and Audrey Niro and the late Gerald Farace. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Michael Church, 29 Wooster Place, New Haven, CT on Thursday morning, March 10 at 11:00 AM to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Relief Services.
