Muriel Anne Howe, 98, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 surrounded by her family.  She was the beloved wife of the late Samuel Howe.  Born on May 29, 1919 in the Borough of Bronx, NYC;  Muriel was the daughter of the late Louis and Theresa (Henninger) Schoenberg. She was the mother of Richard Howe (Deborah) and the late Robert Williams. Grandmother of Heather Blacha, Laurie Williams Colston, Brandy Williams Guggisberg (Jared), Rebecca Howe Kraus (Alexander), Ryan Williams and Rachel Howe. Great-grandmother of James Williams Schmidtlein, Jacob Blacha, Lola Guggisberg and Collin Guggisberg. A child of the Great Depression, a single working mother and breast cancer survivor.  Muriel was grateful for the many blessings of her long life.  She was an artist, animal lover and avid gardener.  When it came to her family and “her babies”, Muriel was generous with all things, especially her love.  Our dear Mema, “You will never be forgotten even though we are apart, you will always and forever live in our hearts.”

Private services will be held to celebrate Muriel’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
