Nancy Aiello Improta, 83, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at her home with her loving daughter by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Gennaro Improta. Nancy was born in Naples, Italy on April 22, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Antonio and Anna Aiello. Nancy worked as a tailor for Mario & Joseph’s clothing store in West Haven for many years. In Nancy’s younger years, she and her husband loved to dance and would make special plans with friends to get dressed up and go to New York to dance the night away. She loved to sing, was an avid gardener, bocce and bingo player. Nancy enjoyed fishing, trips to the beach and most of all cooking and spending time with her family who she loved unconditionally. Loving mother of Suzanne (Pasquale) Ruotolo and the late Carmine Improta. Beloved grandmother of Ava (Thomas) Bridges, Chloe (Thomas) Calzone, Aaron and Alyssa Ruotolo. Great grandmother of Cora and Thomas Kane. Sister of Johnny Aiello and the late Antonio, Peppino, Carlo Aiello and Enza Sisto. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The visiting hours will be on Tuesday morning, June 6th from 8:45 to 10:45 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 355 Foxon Road, East Haven at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to Dorothy Adler Geriatric Assessment Center, 333 Cedar Street, New Haven, CT 06510.
There will not be a day that goes by with out thinking of you , you are in my heart my soul forever . I will miss your voice , smile, touch, calling out my name every minute , but most of all I will miss our talks. I’m so grateful for being able to take oyu home and care for you . I will do it over and over again for you , if I ever were to get that chance again. I will never let you go , EVER . I Love oyu so much mom and a huge piece of my heart was taken with oyu when you left . RIP mom and Live it up where you are with dad, Carmen and our entire family that is there . Nancy, there are so many memories I could share from over the last 30+years. My heart is broken and I will miss you forever. I will always remember your beautiful smile and silly laugh. I will cherish the memories of our time together and share them with others in your honor. You lived a full life and you were a blessing to anyone that had the opportunity to know you, especially me.
