My thoughts and prayers go out to the Cecarelli family. Nelson was so generous with his time helping CT farmers with help and advice. Nelson was instrumental in getting zone tilling started in the State. His great sense of humor always willing to share a joke. Being a steward of the land and growing beautiful veggies, Nelson will be missed. May he Rest In Peace.
My deepest sympathy to the Cecarelli family and all those who love him. I was fortunate enough to meet Nelson when I had my restaurant and he always took such good care of me. I always said the best part of my day was going to the farm in the morning and chatting with Nelson and Will. A time now I will treasure forever. My deepest condolences to the Cecarelli family- you are in my thoughts and prayers.
I am so sorry for your loss. I have not seen Nelson in many years but know the man he was from our years together in high school. I feel confident that this “leopard” did not lose his spots. He was kind, patient and so very nurturing. He thought of others before himself and gave love to all around him. When I couldn’t drive a car due to fear after totaling my mother’s car he “pushed” me to learn to drive his brown VW. He taught me to “get back on that horse,” and I will forever be grateful for that time he spent with me. I’m sure, as his family, you have seen this quality many times. I pray those memories will help to comfort you in the future.
Jory, please accept my deepest sympathy and love. I’m so very sorry for your loss.
When I found out Nelson had passed the cerli bonds of earth Bob Dylan’s song “shelter from the storm” was playing on the radio. It is so unfair that he was taken so soon. 15 years Ago while I was sinking like a rock, and so many were standing by watching my train wreck of a life, Nelson realized where I was and suggested an alternative path and I took it. That path allowed me a direction I had wished for. I was able to provide my kids a foundation they can now create amazing lives. None of this would have been possible without Nelson’s intervention. The biggest honor to me was after the eight year window where he had to stay out of the insurance world he came back to work for me and my clients in the down season from farming. We were truly the odd couple. He was the consummate liberal while I’m a conservative. When ever we were together he would get a gleam in his eye like Burt Lancaster in Field of Dreams. He would the hit me with a liberal talking point- game on- we would spar for a time, but always find common ground and agree to disagree on the other issues and then depart friends. We talked about so many issues. He taught me so much and I’m grateful for having him playing such a integral part in my life. He also showed many of us how to grieve when he lost his son 5 years ago. We all morned with him and Jory an they showed us how to heal from such an unimaginable loss. I still feel he’s going to walk thru the door. I love you brother. Rest In Peace. Thank you!
Please accept our most sincerest condolences. Our prayers are with you and your family. May God grant your family strength an serenity through this difficult moment your family is enduring. God has promised us that we will soon be reunited with our loved one. “There is going to be a resurrection,” the Bible confirms at Acts 24:15. “Do not be amazed at this, “Jesus assures as, “for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out”-John 5:28,29
So sorry to hear this news. We will all miss him. Though I have not seen him in years I will always remember him from highschool. Prays and love for the ones left behind.
Dear Jory , bonnie and the cecarelli family my thoughts and prayers are with you in the loss of this wonderful man he will surely be missed
I cannot begin to even try to imagine how Nelson’s passing is impacting Georgene, Jenna, Dustin, and Will along with my many cousins and everyone whose life was impacted by Nelson. Over the years of Nelson’s stewardship of Cecarelli Farms he stayed true to the simple rules I remember from visits from Derby to Northford. The rule was “start boiling the water then go pick the corn” As simple as it sounds it kept the high standards and values that Nelson grew up learning which allowed him to impart these lessons to everyone he met. I know for Vicki and i driving by the farm to and from work every day may not every be quite the same , but a glance out over the fields will let all remember Nelson is out there watching over us all .
One of the blessings I have received by being on social media is the avenue it has opened for me to pray.
I live here in Wooster, Ohio.
I am so sorry for your loss as a friend and family man.
I have family in Conneticuit and some friends.
I am praying for you all.
My deepest sympathies to the entire Cecarelli family. I remember Nelson as being friendly and caring with a wonderful smile. To read of his dedication and involvement in the community seems to aptly fit the person I remember from school. I pray that each and every one of you can get through these dark days by focusing on all of your loving memories of Nelson.
Nelson was (and always will be) my cousin. Some have mentioned that Nelson was “liberal”. Perhaps–but what he really was–was a person with deep-seated empathy for his fellow man. This I witnessed every time I was around him; every time we spoke. And anyone who knew him, knows this as well. God bless and keep you Nelson.
Dear Jory, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved husband, Nelson. My prayers are with you and your family in this sorrowful time. May you find comfort in your faith in Christ and the continuing love and caring of your community. He does not leave you orphaned. I pray that you will find comfort in his continuing care.
sorry for your loss. I knew him the times we talked about his cars as I was a ford and carburetor mechanic for 45 years. I met him at the farm as I was picking up our weekly vegetable allotment. we hit it off and we both enjoyed shooting the breeze about his cars. he will not be forgot and always will be in my memory.
So sorry for the loss of this amazing man, Nelson Cecarelli. Nelson ( Farm Family Ins.) was a huge part in the foundation of our now successful business. Care is in his last name and stands out to me. Cody and I, were fortunate to spend sometime at the Cecarelli Farm a few months ago, after work with Nelson and Willy. Nelson was the best and will be missed greatly. Thoughts and Prayers to Family and Friends. God Bless.
I am so sorry to hear about Nelson’s passing. I wish I was closer so I could attend the services.
He was a wonderful example to so many people and I will always consider him my friend . I know he will be dearly missed by everyone.
Nelson was a good friend. He was one of the nicest persons I have ever known. Always smiling. I am so sorry for your loss.
“Never underestimate the power of a kind word or deed”… a simple reminder that I’m sure Nelson has left each and everyone of us this evening. Gary& our family are forever grateful for having known Nelson’s father,in our early farming days & then Nelson years later. We know where the sense of humor came from! The Cecarelli Brothers! They loved to tease & quiz Gary & I about farm practices & showed us how to pick the corn @ the right time. We will miss those days but Nelson is now in Good Hands. He IS the salt of the earth…He will be sadly missed by us & the Farm community.
So very sorry to hear of Nelson’s passing.
My prayers and condolences go out to Nelson’s entire family. I’ve known Nelson for years and he always had a big smile and a happy greeting every time I would see him. He was such a nice man. God bless.
