Nicholas D. Palermo, Sr., 90, of North Haven formerly of Chidsey Drive, North Branford, beloved husband of Annette Alberino Palermo passed away on May 29, 2022 at Yale New Haven Hospital.  He was the son of the late Dominic and Anna Taneszio Palermo.  Besides his wife of 67 years, he leaves two sons, Nicholas D. Palermo, Jr. (Vivian) of Naples, Florida, James D. Palermo of North Haven, two grandsons, Nicholas D. Palermo III of West Haven, Carmine Palermo (Danielle) of Naples, Florida and a great granddaughter Gianna Palermo, many nieces and nephews He leaves two sisters Lorraine D’Addio (Michael) deceased of New Haven, Lucille Virgulto (James deceased) of Northford.  He was predeceased by a brother Raymond (Evelyn), two sisters Mary (Fred) Piccirillo and Madeline Palermo. Mr. Palermo retired from the CT State Labor Department OSHA Division as a Safety Consultant.  He previously was employed as a plant facility engineer at the Olin Corp Ramset-Winchester Division.  He served as a radioman on a destroyer escort in the US Navy in the Korean War.  He was past post commander at both the VFW 6041 and the American Legion Post #83 of Branford.

The visiting hours will be Saturday morning, June 4th from 9:30 to 11:30 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven at 12:00PM.
