North Haven Firefighter Anthony A. DeSimone, 50, of North Haven, passed Thursday, August 24th, 2023, at Yale-New Haven Hospital after being stricken at his home. He was the beloved husband of 20 years to Pamela Parauka DeSimone. Anthony was born in New Haven on December 15th, 1972, and was the son of the late Charles P. DeSimone, Sr. and Marge DeLizio DeSimone. A 1991 graduate of North Haven High School, Anthony had served as a volunteer firefighter with the Northeast Volunteer Fire Company #4 before becoming a career firefighter in 2000. Anthony was past president, past treasurer, and liaison for the North Haven Professional Firefighters Association, was a member of the North Haven Knights of Columbus, Council 3733, and coached North Haven Little League. The loving father of Dominic A. DeSimone and Victoria T. DeSimone. Brother-in-law of Valerie Parauka. Uncle of Brandon N. DeSimone and Scarlett J. Parauka. Predeceased by his brother Charles P. DeSimone, Jr.
The visiting hours will be Wednesday, August 30th from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven on Thursday morning, August 31st at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following with full departmental honors in All Saints Cemetery. I met Anthony in Stop and shop were I had worked In North Haven for many years .We became friends just by conversing back-and-forth and immediately formed a friendship. He was truly a good guy!
