Pasquale (Pat) Andrew Ferraro, 90, of North Haven, Connecticut died on December 22, 2022 after a long valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 68 years, Gloria (Nazzaro) Ferraro, his son, Dennis Ferraro of Lincoln, NE, daughter Mary Ellen Ferraro of Wallingford, CT, grandchildren Marci Ferraro, John (Jamie) Ferraro, and Morgan (Neil) Ferraro-Hannah and great granddaughters, Rosalyn, Serena and Gabby. He is survived by siblings Ann (Ralph) Palumbo, Michael (Barbara) Ferraro, Suzanne (Richard) Smallman, Antoinette Gigantino, Robert (Melinda) Ferraro, Jerry (Maria) Ferraro, Richard (Carol) Ferraro and Debra (Thomas) DeMusis and numerous nieces and nephews. He was born on January 26, 1932 in New Haven, CT to the late Michael and Adeline (Dolly) Ferraro. He is predeceased by his brother Thomas Ferraro, sister-in-law Josephine Ferraro and brother-in-law Henry Gigantino. Pat graduated Hillhouse High School in 1950 and graduated from the University of New Haven with a degree in electrical engineering. He served in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Technician from 1950–1954. He was an avid aviation enthusiast and obtained his private pilot’s license in 1988. Pat enjoyed learning new technologies and often helped friends and family in this area. He taught a beginner’s computer class at the North Haven Senior center for several years. He was a helpful, altruistic soul who loved animals, children, nature and people in general, especially his immediate and extended family. The family would like to thank the staff of the West Haven VA Medical Center for the compassionate, attentive, excellent care provided during his long illness.
The visiting hours will be Saturday morning, Dec. 31st from 10:00 to 11:30 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven at 12 noon. Masks are requested for all services. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Pasquale A. Ferraro may be made to the VA Medical Center, 950 Campbell Avenue, West Haven, CT 06516. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Pat was a tremendous person who loved his family deeply and did his best to help whoever he could with a caring and loving heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Our loss is Heaven’s gain. May God bless your gentle soul Uncle Pat. We will all see you again someday. Until then….
