Patricia Ann (Moore) Franco 83, of Northford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Ralph John “The King” Franco, Sr. for 57 years. Born in New Haven on December 31, 1940, and she was the daughter of the late John Moore and Louise (Caprio) Moore. Our Mom started working at the Hospital of St. Raphael at the age of 16 years old as a tray passer and spent her entire working career there. It was shortly after starting to work there that she found her career path, she wanted to become a Registered Dietician. She started college after graduating from Wilbur Cross High School in 1958 but had to stop to help raise her youngest brother. She always continued working at the hospital and never stopped until her retirement back in 2006. With five small children she went back to college and earned her bachelor’s degree from Albertus Magnus College, passed her state boards, and her dream of becoming a Registered Dietician came true. She later went on to earn her Master’s Degree at the University of New Haven. She also enjoyed being an adjunct professor at Gateway Community College (formerly South Central Community College). Besides the proud moments of her children completing college, getting married, and having grandchildren, she loved volunteering, especially with the Special Olympics. Her fondest memory was the 1995 World Special Olympics when she was one of the lead dieticians to make sure all the athletes had their dietary needs met.

Besides being at a number of baseball parks across CT or in Arizona, watching our Dad play baseball, Mom enjoyed crocheting, playing pinochle, puzzles, watching the Game Show Networks, organizing her high school reunions, making Italian cookies, her “secret” meatball recipe, but what she most enjoyed was spending time with her grandchildren and watching them play all sports and dance. Proud Mother of Denise (Franco) and Kenneth Ouimet of Middletown, Lisa (Franco) and Keith Manning of Northford, Dawn (Franco) and Michael Cosmas of Milford, Ralph, Jr., and Mirna Paula (Rocha) Franco of Shelton, Kristie (Franco) and Jared Whitcomb of North Haven. Loving grandmother of Sarah, Sydney and Noah Ouimet, Ashley Manning, Michael, Nicholas and Marina Cosmas, Rebecca and Ralph Franco, William, and Addison Whitcomb. Sister of Jack (John) Moore (Phyllis) of Florida, and the late sister Rachel (Edward Sr.) Gono and late brother Richard Moore. Also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.

The visiting hours will be Saturday January 20th from 8:30 to 10:30 am at the Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue followed by a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at St. Monica’s Church, 1321 Middletown Avenue, Northford at 11:00. Interment will follow at Northford Cemetery.
