Patricia “Patty” Ann Ferrara Diglio, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and spouse, of East Haven, CT, passed away on December 16, 2020 at the age of 73 due to complications associated with COVID-19.  A 1965 graduate of Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven, Patricia was employed for 28 years with the State of Connecticut Social Services Department, where she garnered many accolades for her community and family work. Upon retiring, she worked for the East Haven Board of Education as a lunch aid and volunteer at Ferrara Elementary School for over a decade. Residing in East Haven since the 1980’s, her love of animals lasted her entire life as well as her love of watching the UCONN Huskies Women’s Basketball and taking her monthly trips to the casino.  Born on November 12, 1947 to Elvira “Vera” and John M. Ferrara, she was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dominic Ferrara, and nephew John Charles Ferrara. Patricia is survived by her husband Robert Diglio, her beloved one and only daughter Dawn Diglio, and dearest granddaughter Kelsie Cunha, who meant the world to her. She is also survived, and will be dearly missed, by loving family members, including sisters Elizabeth “Betty” Ferrara and Camille (Bill) Tolento, who were always there for her no matter the circumstances, her cousin Joe (Dan) Finoia, sister and brother-in-laws Phyllis and James Abel, Anita and James Diglio, and Maryann G. Ferrara, as well as nieces Kimberly Quealy, Noelle Ferrara Bisson, Julie Diglio, and Michelle Diglio, nephews Chris (Whitney) Abel, James (Sara) Abel Jr., and James (Kristin) Diglio Jr., and numerous great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

The visiting hours will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, North Haven. A service will be conducted at the funeral home at 12:00pm immediately followed by interment at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Avenue, West Haven. Guests are required to observe all COVID-19 precautions, masks and social distancing are required at all times. The family of Patricia would like to acknowledge the health care heroes at St. Raphael Campus at Yale New Haven Hospital and The Connecticut Hospice, Inc. for the incredible care provided to Patricia.
