Paul A. Grasso Sr., 99, of Meriden, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 30, 2017 at the MidState Medical Center, Meriden with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 38 years to Elizabeth Smith Grasso. Paul was born in Bridgeport on October 11, 1917 and was the son of the late Nicholas and Rose Marinucci Grasso. He had worked as a Bus Driver for Connecticut Transit for many years until his retirement. Paul volunteered at the Westville Care & Rehab Center for 16 years; was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Meriden; was an avid supporter of the New York Yankees and UNCONN Women’s Basketball; and really loved the British mysteries on CT public broadcasting. Father of Linda (William) Greenough, Paul A. Grasso, Jr., Barry (Christine) Grasso and Daryl Williams. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, and Saturday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Monica Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Public Broadcasting Network, 1049 Asylum Avenue, Hartford, CT 06105.
