Peter Edward Colatosti, 91, of New Haven passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at his home with his family by his side.  He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Gilda Perrotti Colatosti.  Peter was born in New Haven on September 11, 1925; son of the late Angelo and Rose Salemme Colatosti; a 1943 graduate of Hamden High School and later Port School of Tool & Machine Design in 1951, obtained a Bachelor degree in Engineering from the University of New Haven in 1964; served his country faithfully in the US Army; had worked as a Gun Designer for Winchester’s Repeating Arms for many years until his retirement and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Peter was an avid skier, racket and handball player, enjoyed working around his yard, his 1953 MG but most of all enjoyed his family whom he loved unconditionally.  Brother of Albert (Gloria) Alexander, Loretta Petrucci and the late Robert Colatosti.  Also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Monday morning at 10:00.  Family and friends may call from 9:00 to 10:00 am. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, New Haven at 10:30.  Entombment with full military honors will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Administration Connecticut Healthcare System West Haven Campus, 950 Campbell Avenue, West Haven, CT  06516.
