Peter was born in New Haven on December 23, 1975 and was the son of Carole Villano Votto and the late Philip J. Votto, Jr. He was the beloved husband of Maria Lisa D’Ascanio Votto. Maria Lisa and Peter are the loving parents of two beautiful children. Their sweet little two year old daughter, Gianna and one year old adorable little Peter “PJ.”

Peter was devoted to family. He enjoyed spending time with his Brother, Stephen Votto and Sister, Lisa Votto (Kevin Fitzsimmons), father and mother-in-law, Giovanni and Maria Teresa D’Ascanio, sister-in-laws, Angela Larabie (Marques) and Jessica D’Ascanio, nieces and nephews, Lauren and Sarah Votto, Adrianna and Domenic Larabie.  Peter is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends whom adored him.  Peter was predeceased by his grandmother Annette Vegliante Villano, a woman he so deeply loved and honored.

Peter obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Curry College where he proudly served as The President of his graduating class in 1998.  Peter was an accomplished businessman. His colleagues and employees valued and appreciated the work ethic, skills and kindness he brought as a leader. Peter’s most adored job was the one in which he worked beside his father, the man he cherished, at their family owned Pharmacy, Beirne’s of New Haven.

Peter’s presence lit the room with love, happiness and laughter no matter where he was.  Peter’s charm glistened through his bright eyes, radiant smile and sense of humor. He lived life with passion. Some of these passions included golfing, The New York Yankees, sharp button down shirts and traveling, especially to the Caribbean with his wife. Peter loved his Italian heritage. Some of his favorite Italian delicacies were veal cutlets, red wine, cheese and espresso with a little splash of Sambuca.  Peter adored the Christmas season.  His extensive nutcracker collection was very proof of this.  Peter truly cherished family time.  This normally included weekend adventures for the kids followed by snuggling with his family on the couch, watching his favorite TV shows and sipping on diet Snapple.

Peter’s life and legacy will be carried on by the many who loved and cherished his kind eyes, warm heart and devotion to laughter and kindness to others.
