Philip F. DeSorbo, Sr. of Northford passed away peacefully on November 27, 2016, one day after his 78th birthday at Twin Maples Healthcare. He was born on November 26, 1938 in New Haven; son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Scalisse)DeSorbo. Philip is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Maria(Romano)DeSorbo, who devoted herself to taking care of him during his illness. Phil was an avid Cyclist and enjoyed going to UCONN and CCSU football and basketball games with his friends and family. He will be deeply missed by his son and daughter-in-law Philip, Jr. and Dina of Branford and also by his daughter and son-in-law Dina and Billy McMahon of Sudbury, MA. “Papa D” also leaves his beloved grandchildren Sofia and Isabella DeSorbo and Ava & Liam McMahon. Brother of Joseph DeSorbo of North Branford and Vivian (Anthony) Santilli of North Haven. Predeceased by his sister-in-law Joann DeSorbo. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends. We will forever be grateful for the time we got to spend with Philip and will cherish all of our happy memories. Nothing was more important to him than being with his family.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Thursday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Monica’s Church at 11:00. Internment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Michael J. I am so sorry for your loss of your husband and dad. He was a great person and if I am half the father and husband he was I will be blessed. So many memories that we will never forget. To this day I still change Noel to Leon on Christmas because of him
