Raymond D. Filip, 81, of Madison, passed away peacefully at Yale New Haven Hospital on Thursday, November 16th, 2023, with his family by his side.  He was the loving husband of 50 years to Rita Bartolomei Filip. Born in Bridgeport on November 8, 1942, he was the son of the late Vincent F. Jr., and Julia A. Hovanec Filip. Raymond worked as a Training Program Specialist for the State of Connecticut Department of Corrections, retiring after thirty-three years of service. He was an avid reader, had a great appreciation for music and took a lot of pride in his career and his family, whom meant everything to him. Father of David Filip, Kim (Daniel) Albanese, Jennifer Filip and her fiancé Donald Skaggs, Jacqueline (Jeff) Jennings and John (Aline) Filip. Loving grandfather of Dylan, Tyler, Bryce, Thomas, Patricia, Athena, Emma and Ellie. Brother of Maryann Petreycik and Diane Santaniello. 

The visiting hours will be Monday, November 27, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.  Relatives and friends are invited on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven at 12 noon for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
