Raymond R. Pantalena, Sr., 89, of Branford, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 7th, 2021, at his home with his family by his side.  He was the beloved husband of 67 years to Meri L. Smith Pantalena. Ray was born in New Haven on January 20th, 1932 and was the son of the late John and Madeline Melotto Pantalena.  He served his country faithfully in the US Air Force during the Korean era.   He had a long career in appliance and electronics sales. Ray worked for the former Zemel Brothers Appliance in New Haven, Magnavox, operated the appliance floor at the former Edward G. Malley Company in New Haven and later held regional then national positions with RCA until his retirement.  He enjoyed woodworking, boating, the coast of Maine and was a Mason for 55 years. Family was very important to Ray.  He and Meri were inseparable.  Ray was very proud of the achievements of his children and grandchildren. Father of Attorney Lynne L. Pantalena and Raymond R. Pantalena, Jr. (Mary Beth), Grandfather of Rev. Rowan (Madeline) Larson (Kelsey), Jack, Max, and R.J. Pantalena.  Brother of Gloria Trahan (Joseph), Carol Cowan (Stanley) and the late John W. Pantalena (Rose).  He was uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Branford Evangelical Free Church at 231 Leetes Island Rd, Branford, CT 06405 on Wednesday June 16,2021 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stony Creek Rescue Fire Co. 5, 41 School Street, Branford, CT 06405.
