Ricardo O. Montesi, 81, of Hamden formally of North Haven where he raised his family for many years, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Marlene DeLucia Montesi. Ricardo was born in New Haven on December 14, 1935; son of the late Olympio and Bruna Antonetti Montesi; spent his career working at Montesi Volkswagen and was a member of the Marchigiana Society. Father of David E. Montesi of Hamden and Mark J. (Corliss) Montesi of Cheshire. Grandfather of Ashley L. (fiancé Philip Giampapa, Jr.) Montesi of Westbrook, Tyler D. Montesi of Killingworth, Christina R. Montesi of New York and Alyssa C. Montesi of Cheshire. Brother-in-law of Bruce E. Losty, Rosemarie and Irene Montesi and the late Theresa Orts, Joan Losty and Nullo Bernacchia. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Enzo and Edward Montesi Sr.; a sister Norma Bernacchia; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Salvatore and Anna Perrotti DeLucia.
His Funeral Procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Wednesday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.

Condolences and prayers to the Montesi family . The Children do not know me, but I knew both both Marlene and Ricci for many years And their gandparents both DeLucias and Montesis. Mark would recognize the name and can explain the connection. My thoughts are with him also over the loss of his brother.
