Richard Avino of North Haven passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 15, 2022.  He was born in New Haven on March 19, 1979.   He was the beloved husband of Danielle Candela Avino.  He also leaves behind his cherished son Richard (Sonny) Avino, his loving parents, Robert Avino and Debra Pegram, his sisters Patricia (Steve) Jordan, Christina, Alicia and Larissa Avino, his uncles William (Diane), Richard and Michael Avino, aunt Diane Schurk, his niece and nephew and cat Bella. Rick graduated from North Haven High School.  He worked as an equipment operator for Amtrak and Sims Metal.  He was a member of Teamsters Local 443.  In addition, he was owner/operator of Rick’s Repair Service and loved repairing anything that moved.  He also did residential and commercial snow plowing.

His hobbies were racing his extensive collection of RC cars, fishing and camping all which he loved to share with his son.  He loved riding his motorcycle with his wife and enjoyed many beautiful trips throughout New England. He was predeceased by his grandparents, William & Anna Avino, Richard & Claire Stevenson and father-in-law Rocco Candela. Rick always had a smile on his face, he was friendly, kind and gentle.  He adored his son, loved his wife and family.

He will be missed by all.

The visiting hours will be Saturday morning, Jan. 22nd from 10:00 to 11:30 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 noon in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929
