Richard F. Myjak, 83, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 18th, 2021, at his home with his family by his side.  He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Barbara Bish Myjak.  Richard was born in Middletown on May 15th, 1938 and was the son of the late Stanley and Helen Kurtyka Myjak.  He was one of the first graduating classes at Vinal Technical High School in Middletown and later served his country faithfully in the US Air Force.   He worked as a Draftsman for Pratt & Whitney for 35 years until his retirement. Richard enjoyed the outdoors gardening and bird feeding, was an avid golfer at many different courses throughout Connecticut and also played individual rounds in Florida, Cape Cod, Bermuda, Hawaii and Arizona.  He also enjoyed traveling, having taken many cruises, and visiting places such as Hawaii, Poland and Italy where he attended Mass in St. Peter’s Square with the late Pope John Paul officiating.  A very charitable man, he was an active parishioner of St. Frances Cabrini Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, was a member of the men’s club and the chairman of the bingo committee.  Father of Kevin S. Myjak, Jonathan R. Myjak (Christina) and the late Matthew J. Myjak.  Grandfather of Mariella and Gabriel Myjak.  Brother of John Myjak (Beatrice).  Uncle of Jeffrey Myjak and Judi D’Alessandro.  Great-Uncle of Robert Myjak.

The visiting hours will be Monday, Dec. 20th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven on Tuesday, Dec. 21st at 12 noon to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in All Saints Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish.
